I wanted to tell you I finally have seen good results from the FST. I’ve gained 10% skeletal muscle since I took the treatment. I’ve recently gotten leaner. Went to the gym 2-3x a week for 4 months. I was 173. Now I’m 165 and have very very little body fat. But I noticed I don’t have ANY muscle soreness after workout. And I can do 15 sets of 12 instead of 3 sets without fatigue. My health is excellent.
Feel like my mind is working better. I’m getting good sleep. K (wife) said my attitude’s been a lot better. When I get tired I get more forgetful. I’m not getting tired as easily. 10,000-12,000 steps a day. I do a lot more exercise. I walk fast with the dogs and run. I fill all the bird feeders and tend to them. I cook on the grill every night. Tenderloin on the pain, rather than on the grill. Feeling a lot better.
What I have noticed the most is more muscle mass in my arms and legs.
F (husband) said you’re remembering things better than you did. Huge improvement, according to my daughter. F (husband) said I was able to keep up with map reading & things on holiday (drive). He says I’m improving. I lost the desire to paint. In the last couple of weeks, I've been planning paintings to get over to the studio. It’s like someone erased my mind. At the retirement center I have an area set up. I’m so excited and encouraged at the opportunity I’ve been given. I want to remember everything. The difference between the first test (At Home Cognitive) and the last one much improved My life, joie de vivre, optimism has improved, more positive. I got home from (Christmas) vacation and want to get over to the studio and I’m back to painting. I have images of what I want to paint.
Grooming: S agrees that J’s grooming has improved. She said J is giving much stronger input into what she wants to wear each day, what goes together and what doesn’t, etc. Memory: J is doing better in the games they play every day (which are often word games). She’s also remembering a few simple things she didn’t remember before, such as that dinner is at 5:00 every day.
Oh J you can’t imagine the difference in such a short period of time! He’s improving in many ways thanks! He’s much more aware and alert, better verbal skills and short term memory. He’s started reading again instead of watching TV so much. It’s wonderful and amazing! He’s walking faster He’s interested in doing things he had lost interest in–family and friends have seen it too and say especially how much more engaging he is Doctor is a genius and you are incredibly fabulous for making it all happen Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Grooming: Here’s the one area I can say for sure she has improved. She asked me for nail polish and eyeliner, when she hadn’t been interested in prettying herself up for more than a year. She’s looking much neater and she’s wearing more jewelry than before, always carefully matched to her outfit. Throughout her life, she was always an immaculate groomer, until a couple of years ago. So here we’ve definitely seen improvements. Memory: in our short conversations, my family has noticed her remembering a few people she hasn’t seen for quite a while, and that was a skill she had lost. She’s also remembering more old life events (but not new ones). So her improvements in this area seem to be small and somewhat of a mixed bag. I’ll ask the director if she’s seen any daily-type memory improvements.
He had a lot of dreams that night and he never has dreams. Today he noticed she did some organizing. He hasn't noticed organizing for 3+ years.
We appreciate the way IHS and their travel concierge planned everything for us. Transportation to the clinic and back was calm and professionally done. You run a class act!! Now I look forward to a long and happy future. The Dr. was fantastic and really made the whole process much easier to deal with. We feel it could truly have not gone any better. My nails and hair seem to be getting stronger and thicker.
Her legs have more muscle tone and her skin is tighter. I feel I have some more muscle tone as well. It’s just way more obvious in her because of her age and the ways the chemo has ravaged her little frame. She is thrilled!
